Aloe Vera and Hair Loss

Aloe has also been shown to have a positive effect in stopping certain hair loss issues and promoting new hair growth. Benefiting mainly in treating the scalp, which further reinforces its capacity as a skin treatment. Understanding certain scalp conditions will help with understanding how aloe helps alleviate these problems and assists in returning to healthy hair growth.

Aloe Vera and Dandruff or Scalp

Dandruff is a common condition where dead skin cells flake off from the scalp at a much higher and faster rate than normal. The scalp may be itchy and irritated, or the flakiness may build up on the scalp, creating patches of dried and dead skin. There are many shampoos available to treat dandruff using chemicals, however some chemicals could cause further irritation to sensitive skin.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a condition that may appear similar to dandruff, although irritation is much greater. The natural oil known as sebum is beneficial to a healthy scalp by keeping it moisturized and preventing dryness. If there is an overproduction of sebum the scalp becomes oily. Overproduction can be a physiological condition, or may be caused by stress, or fungal or yeast infections. The excess oil on the scalp mixes with dirt and dust from the air and creates patches of scaly buildup. Hair follicles become blocked and swollen, and the scalp then becomes irritated and itchy with raised red patches. Large areas of skin can be affected.
Both these conditions, through clogging the pores and irritating hair follicles, can affect hair growth, at least slowing it or making it weaker, with seborrheic dermatitis specifically known to cause hair loss. On the other end of the spectrum, dry scalp can cause hair loss as well. This condition may be caused by too little sebum, or by external factors such as frequent shampooing with harsh products, too many chemical treatments, overuse of blow-dryers, dry weather conditions or not drinking enough water. Symptoms are similar to dandruff with itching and irritation, while hair also becomes brittle and may fall out. Treating with aloe can relieve these conditions, and as a result, help hair follicles return to healthy, normal production.
Aloe Vera properties are so mild and gentle it makes it suitable for kids and babies too!
 Natural Conditioning (VEGAN)
In addition to soothing and eradicating any skin and scalp problems, the benefits of Aloe Vera for Hair as a a great conditioning agent is excitingly overwhelming. The gel-like substance of the aloe barbadensis leaf gives it a similar chemical composition of keratin, the naturally occurring protein in hair cells. This structural similarity allows for easier penetration along the entire length of the hair shaft. It has been proven that the skin can absorb the benefits of Aloe Vera up to 7 layers deep; as our scalps are more absorbent than our skin, can you imagine the conditioning benefits available to the scalp? The combination of Aloe Vera’s 20 amino acids (which are the building blocks of hair and scalp) also adds both strength and luster to the hair.

Who is SoapShifu

Mummy's little girl
SoapShifu Introduction
It’s a mother's love to my girl that started me off my soap making journey. Remembering the time where I need to spend almost half a day waiting at the clinic to see the Dermatologist and spending sums of dollars on creams, medication and Soap of all kinds. But will only end up seeing her scratching all over her body just like a monkey with fleas all over. This most of the time will lead to blood scars on her body, and as being a mother it really aches my heart.
After tormented for four years, I started to find solution to what is causing her sensitive skin and to my amazement I feel that I have been fooled by advertisements of commercial bathing products my WHOLE entire life thinking how good they were. After understanding those alien chemical contents used in making those soap and how harmful it can be, I suddenly realise that I was the culprit to my girl’s sensitive skin condition. With almost a year of research and learning soap making from a teacher, it has proven my hard work is all worth it. Not only that her skin condition has improved, she now has smooth and tender skin.
In thees years of making handmade soap, I have also understands how nature can help us revive our dull and dry skin and retaining our health. That has urged me to the search of using traditional Chinese medicines and other natural vegan ingredients into my range of soaps.

Best Method In Soap making (COLD PROCESS SOAP)
There are 3 kinds of method to soap making and they are melt and pour, hot process and cold process. The cold process method takes the most time, but is undoubtedly the best method for producing the highest quality soaps which Soapshifu uses combines premium, caustic soda and frozen liquid. Freezing the liquid content in making the soap helps to control the process around room temperature which plays a very important role to retaining the best of all the glycerin (a natural moisturiser) remains intact in the soap. SoapShifu makes all these natural soap in small batch basis where personal attention and care is given to the soap-making process. Giving you the best of quality ensured.

Our natural Additives
In SoapShifu not only do we use pure certified oils. We also incorporate ingredients from natural plants that enhance your skin which also frees your skin  from synthetic chemical. SoapShifu do not use artificial colors or fragrances in our soap bars. These are synthetic chemicals and we don't want them on your skin or going down your drain. We only believe in giving you the best and you deserve the best that why we solely use natural essential oil and colorant from plants and fruits to make our soap look and smell nice.

What exactly is "Natural Handmade Soap?"
Natural Handmade soap is made the old-fashioned way our fore-fathers made soap with Lye, liquid and nutrient- rich plant or animal fats. As you might be alarmed - LYE! a caustic chemical! Well in soap making lye plays a very important role during the soap-making process as it neutralised the fats and create an amazing natural ingredient call "Glycerin". As a hygroscopic substance, soap manufacturers extract these high resale valued glycerin and sell it to other companies to make lotions and creams. Its only handmade soap that retains its natural glycerin that keeps your skin hydrated at all times.

As a soap maker, We take pride in every soap that we craft. We cautiously test all our recipes before putting up the rack for sale and uses premium oils that is Lab safe certify by "Eurofins Group". To ensure 100% natural handmade soap, we keep away from synthetic fragrance oil and artificial chemical colouring and uses essential oil extract from plants and natural additive colours from plants & mineral clay e.g. clay from the "Dead sea". Giving the best natural treats for your skin.

What can Sulfates do to your skin?

What is Sulfates (Sulphate)?
Sulfates like : Sodium Lauryl (Laureth) Sulfate (SLS) is currently the primary foaming agent of Western civilization. It is usually found in combination with cocamidopropyl betaine (cocabetaine) and diethanolalamine (DEA), which itself has fallen under scrutiny of late. SLS is found in shampoos, bath gels, car washes, dish detergents, bar "soaps", laundry detergents, etc. It is a wetting and dispersing agent, emulsifier, degreaser and foamer. It also increases skin permeability roughly 100 times and is used in lotions to increase absorption of micronutrients through the skin.
Sulfates have been known to cause irritation to people who have susceptible skin, such as those with eczema. If you do suffer from eczema then one thing you could try is switching to a sulfate free natural handmade soap.
List of sulfates you will find in all bathing products are listed below, from least irritating at number 1, to most irritating, at number 5:
  1. Sodium Myreth Sulfate
  2. TEA Laureth Sulfate
  3. Sodium Laureth Sulfate
  4. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
  5. Ammonia Laureth Sulfate
Why Avoid Sulfates Bathing Products?
The most popular sulfate for use in bathing products is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. This is the best cleaning agent and one of the cheapest surfactants to manufacture. But a higher concentrated version of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is used to degrease engines. So if it can strip that grease off those car engines can you imagine what it does to strip from your hair and body? The answer is - All those natural oils from your body! This leads to dry and unhealthy skin.
Ever wonder why baby bathing products doesn’t sting your eyes but how painful a dollop of bathing products can be if it gets into your eyes? This is due to the sulfates in the shampoo.
There have been some studies that suggest long term exposure to sulfates can have damaging effects on our skin and hair. Although sulfates do a really good job of cleaning your hair, would you want to trade your own skin looking and feeling clean for a little while, before it goes dry, or do you use a sulphate free natural handmade soap which will not strip as much oil or even dry out your skin at the same time moisturising and nourishing your body with all the natural ingredient use in making handmade soap.
Group of people that Should Avoid Sulfate Bathing Proudcts
  • People with eczema and sensitive.
  • Anyone with oily skin. This sounds counter intuitive. Surely someone with oily skin will want a product that strips the oil away. Unfortunately, the body will produce even more oil to replace that which has been lost. So avoiding sulfates would be a good plan for these you too.
